The holiday season can be a challenging time for individuals and families impacted by alcohol and drug issues. Lives Lived Well is reminding the community that support is available now and into 2025 through its upgraded facilities at Chambers Flat, where Logan House and Logan Family Recovery provide comprehensive care in a peaceful, semi-rural setting.

Logan House offers a residential alcohol and drug treatment program designed for people over the age of 18. The program operates in six-week cycles and can be extended to three months, depending on individual recovery needs and bed availability. Located on the same grounds, Logan Family Recovery provides a unique opportunity for parents to undertake live-in treatment while staying with their young children.

Logan Family Recovery’s program is designed to support parents with children under the age of 10. Families live in dedicated units, accommodating up to two children, with the potential to support families with three children based on community dynamics.

“Our specialist team works with parents to reduce the harms of alcohol and drug use and support positive change,” said Harley Stedman, Clinical Services Manager at Lives Lived Well.

“We understand the importance of keeping families together during recovery, which is why our program provides tailored support for both parents and children.”

The multidisciplinary team includes drug and alcohol and family counsellors, a treatment facilitator, a registered nurse, and other allied health professionals, ensuring holistic care.

In May 2024, Lives Lived Well completed significant renovations at the Chambers Flat facilities, enhancing the environment for clients and staff. Improvements included updates to the residential facilities, tennis court, reception area, pergola, driveways, and roads. A former garden shed was converted into a storeroom, providing much-needed storage for the facility.

“These renovations have created a more welcoming and functional space,” Mr Stedman said.

Logan House and Logan Family Recovery provide a safe and supportive space for those ready to take the first step toward recovery. The programs emphasise evidence-based care, helping individuals reduce the harms of alcohol and drug use, develop positive coping strategies, and create a foundation for lasting change.

“Our programs are designed to meet individuals and families where they are,” Mr Stedman said.

“Whether it’s through live-in treatment or other community-based options, our team is here to help. We welcome self-referrals, making it easier for people to access support when they’re ready.”
