We offer Police/Court Diversion (PCD) services in the Burleigh Heads, Caboolture, Capalaba, Gladstone, and Townsville regions.
Police/Court Diversion may be offered to individuals who have committed a minor drug offence to provide them with an opportunity to access alcohol and other drug treatment early.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
We provide an assessment and education session as well as referrals to other services including counselling, support or residential treatment.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
Yes, all referrals are made by the arresting police officer or the court officer. You can be eligible for PCD if you have a criminal history, however not all drug related offences are eligible, only “minor drug offences” can access the service.
IS THERE A COST?
No, it is a free program funded through the State Government.
