Police/Court Diversion

PCD services give you the chance to access alcohol and other drug treatment early.

We offer Police/Court Diversion (PCD) services to people who have committed a minor drug offence, and who are looking to get support for their alcohol and other drug use.

Our PCD services are available in several regions across Queensland and delivered as face to face or videoconference.

What does it involve?

We provide a one-off session either face to face or through videoconference. These sessions offer assessment, information and education and are designed to help you access support as well as referrals to other services including counselling, support or residential treatment.

Do I need a referral?

Yes, all referrals are made by the arresting police officer or the court officer. You can be eligible for PCD if you have a criminal history, however not all drug related offences are eligible; only “minor drug offences” can access the service.

Is there a cost?

No, it is a free program funded through the Queensland State Government.
