Opening of New 20-bed Recovery Centre in Caboolture
On Monday 9 March we officially launched Wunya, a new live-in alcohol and drug recovery centre in Caboolture. Lives Lived Well Chair, Damian Wright, and Federal Member for Longman, Terry Young, spoke at the launch.
Funding boost to Rockhampton region
Lives Lived Well is pleased to be given the opportunity by the State Government to deliver an evidence-informed alcohol and drug treatment program out of a new rehabilitation recovery centre to open in Rockhampton in 2021.
Lighthouse Service Launch
On Friday 11 October we launched Lighthouse, a new community-based treatment service for young people with severe and/or complex mental health needs, at our new space in Southport. Lives Lived Well CEO Mitchell Giles and GCPHN Director of Commissioning (Programs) Libby Carr spoke at the launch.
Woolloongabba Day Program
About 45 people gathered on Friday 21 June, to help us launch the Day Rehabilitation Program in our new space in Woolloongabba. Minister for Transport and Roads, the Hon. Mark Bailey, and Lives Lived Well Chair, Damian Wright, spoke of their support for the state-funded program.
Mackay Day Program launch
Our Mackay team is now delivering the Day Rehabilitation Program in our new service space at 123 Victoria Street, with the official program launch held on 18 June 2019. Many from the community gathered for the event to meet the team and learn more about the free and in-depth option in drug and alcohol recovery.
Day Program launch in Toowoomba
Many gathered on 10 June 2019 to help us launch a Day Rehabilitation Program in Toowoomba. It is the first time we have been able to offer this kind of comprehensive recovery program in the region and it has led to us doubling our service space in Neil Street.
Caboolture Recovery Service – due to open December 2019
Lives Lived Well is now consulting with the community about its plans to open a residential recovery service in Caboolture in December 2019. Construction activities will commence in June. This project has come about thanks to the support of Commonwealth funding.
