Terri-Lea's story

A journey of dedication

Terri-Lea is an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Case Manager Counsellor and Group Facilitator at Lives Lived Well’s Mackay Day Program.

In her role, she teaches and facilitates the Day Program, completing assessments, working on intakes, and assists clients with psychosocial supports and case management.

“There is nothing more rewarding having a client feel completely comfortable to be their true vulnerable self and trust me to guide them on the right path to reach their goals.”

From the beginning

Terri-Lea has always seen herself working in the community services industry. She started in the industry when she was just eighteen years old.

Now, with fourteen years of experience in various community roles, Terri-Lea has become a key part of Lives Lived Well.

She was one of the original Day Program workers when the Mackay Day Program first opened in 2019, meaning she’s worked for Lives Lived Well for almost six years.

Growing together

We asked Terri-Lea, “What’s something about your role people might not know?”

She said, “[They might not know] how much fun we have teaching each group. We facilitate nine Day Programs a year and thoroughly enjoy spending time with everyone. We are always laughing, joking and having a great time with the clients.”

Positive impacts

For Terri-Lea, the most rewarding part of her job is learning how much she has positively impacted the lives of her clients.

After work, Terri-Lea unwinds by reading books, going to the gym, and spending time with her family, including her identical twin boys.
