Live-in and recover

In a peaceful, rural area south of Brisbane, Logan House offers a residential alcohol and drug treatment program, which is part of a continuous package of care. While staying with us in a safe and drug-free environment, you will undertake an evidence-based, flexible program, which provides strategies to help you:

  • reduce substance use
  • manage life challenges
  • develop goals
  • learn parenting skills, if needed
  • and prevent relapse, towards supporting lives free from the harms of drugs or alcohol.
How long is the program?

The live-in program is offered over six to 12 weeks and is only part of a more extensive treatment program that could extend over many months, depending on a person’s need and circumstances. As part of a package, you can access:

  • six to 12 weeks live-in treatment
  • before and after support services
  • transitional accommodation
  • community based counselling and support

People stay for as long as needed, with most accessing up to at least three months of treatment across the various live-in and community services available.

Who can stay?

The program supports people over 18 years.

Get prepared

As soon as you make contact with us, you will be able to access support, as you can see one of our counsellors in the community. This free counselling can help you prepare for entering our live-in program.

On entering

You will be welcomed and settled in, before meeting your treatment facilitator who is honoured to work with you and guide you through the program. With patience and curiosity, your facilitator will seek to understand your needs and treatment goals and work with you to tailor a plan to help get your life back in line with your potential.

Our program

We believe in delivering a program of respect that you can feel proud to be part of. Our care is holistic, tailored to individual needs and education-based. The program takes a harm-minimisation approach and applies a community environment of learning and support as well as individual counselling. Residents are required to remain drug-free throughout and will be provided with support to quit smoking. Research shows that people who give up smoking do better overall in their recovery.

Ongoing aftercare

Completing a drug and alcohol residential program is an achievement but only one step on a longer journey. Following that, we will work with you to support the steps needed to achieve independent living in the community. This may require a short stay in our transitional accommodation. You can also access free, ongoing counselling in the community. Support doesn’t stop when you leave Logan House, with transitional and community teams in place to provide ongoing aftercare.

Our team

Our friendly and professional team has a wide range of life experience and qualifications and is made up of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, counsellors and an on-site nurse. We can help you access Centrelink and other government, professional and medical services if required.

How much does it cost?

You are required to pay some money towards your stay, which depends on the type of benefit or payment you receive from Centrelink. Usually, the cost amounts to 85 per cent of your Centrelink benefit.

Admission

We accept referrals but you don’t need to present one. Just give us a call on 1300 727 957 and we will have a chat to you to determine your needs. We accept referrals from other health professionals, services and community and government organisations.

Location

Logan House is located midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast at 75-87 Kirk Road, Chambers Flat.
