Live in the Shoalhaven region? Start your recovery with day withdrawal support in the community or at home with mobile detox
Nana Muru works with GPs in the Shoalhaven region to provide day withdrawal support. We can work with your nominated GP or put you in touch with a local GP. If you are based in Nowra, you may be able to access supported withdrawal with our Registered Nurse.
We will complete an initial, comprehensive assessment with you. We will then work with you and your local GP to determine the most suitable withdrawal program for you.
Depending on your location, you will be monitored each weekday during your withdrawal program by your GP or our nurse. We can also provide support and advice about how to manage withdrawal over a weekend.
After completing the day withdrawal program, you can continue your recovery through a free day rehab program as well as relapse prevention groups.
How long is the program?
The withdrawal process is different for everyone but usually takes between five and 10 days.
How much does it cost?
Program delivery is free, however, medication and GP consult fees (if the GP does not bulk bill) are paid by the client. Withdrawal medication, which costs around $30 for a five-day treatment (or $6 per script if you have a health care card), is also paid by the client.

Adults aged 18 and over.
Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a GP referral. You can self-refer through our website here. If you have limited access to the internet or would prefer to speak to us to request a referral, please phone the Contact Team on 1300 727 957.
We also accept online provider referrals from other health professionals, services and community and government organisations or they can fax referrals to 07 5546 8223.
Location
Nana Muru offers services from our clinical hub at 78 Bridge Road, Nowra, New South Wales. Our team also visits communities across the Bay/Basin region including Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin, and Sanctuary Point.

Mobile Detox
Start your recovery journey at home with Nana Muru’s mobile detoxification service. This free service is open to people aged 18 and over in the Bay and Basin region, including Nowra. Be guided by a Registered Nurse, who will support your detoxification in consultation with your GP. The process usually takes around nine days. After completion, you can continue to access support on the South Coast through our day program in Nowra. If you need more intensive support, we can refer to you one of our live-in recovery services in Orange or Wollongong.
