We are proud to have the only trainers in Australia that are accredited to deliver, supervise and train in the CRA and CRAFT methods.
Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT) are globally recognised evidence-based treatment methods for problematic substance use. The approach seeks to target the stigma and inhibitions around help-seeking.
CRAFT helps the loved ones of a person with problematic substance use to utilise conversational techniques, helpful questions, and strategies to respond to behavior, designed to elicit a response of feeling listened to, empowered, and supported. CRAFT’s family members can then act as motivation for them to seek help and ultimately wholeheartedly begin the recovery process.
Gentle as the CRAFT method sounds, research indicates it is effective.
