Is your family being affected by drugs or alcohol? We can help.

The misuse of drugs or alcohol in the home can have an impact on children.

Our Kids in Focus program works with families who have children to bring about balance in the home towards reducing this impact.

We help parents affected by alcohol or drug misuse so that they feel supported and are better able to cope with the stress and difficulties of family life.

We work in partnership with other service providers, such as the Benevolent Society Early Years Centre and Wesley Mission Queensland, to deliver the program.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

The program helps with:

  • family relationships and parenting skills
  • supporting children to engage in social activities
  • facilitating access to children’s services such as child care, playgroups and parent-child programs
  • counselling and other supports to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect
  • information about treatment options for drugs and alcohol misuse.

We also run a series of support groups for parents to give them an opportunity to meet and interact with other parents in early recovery.
